Thank you for considering participating in this research project. The purpose of this page is to explain the nature of this study and what your participation would involve, to enable you to make an informed choice. This study aims to identify potentially ‘safe’ and ‘unsafe’ areas in Cork City based on public opinion by crowdsourcing local knowledge. Should you choose to participate, you will be asked to add points on a map to areas of Cork City that you feel are safe and unsafe, as well as give a rating on the safety of the area during the day and night, and provide at least one option from a list of options to add context as to why you feel the area is safe/unsafe. No personally identifiable information will be collected or displayed. Participation in this study is completely voluntary. There is no obligation to participate, and should you choose to do so, you can refuse to answer specific questions, or decide to withdraw from the study.
